The First Law of Biology
There really isn't a first law of biology, but if I had to make one, I'd say "If an organism is to survive, it must consume, produce, or otherwise aquire energy, vital nutrients, and protiens".
Biology has created a thematic statement for every organization, community, and group in the world. It's fundamentally about interdependent systems of organelles on a microscopic level, organs and muscles, and societies at a macroscopic level. They all have sub sciences, like Microbiology, Physiology, and Sociology, respectively.
Although we don't have parallel sciences, the idea is the same. Individual web pages and users comprise a microscopic part of the internet, which are parts of websites, forums and networks, who interact to create a macroscopic whole we call the internet.
Our forum is an organism in a huge digital society, and right now it's pretty small. I've been contemplating advocating our forum, but have feared the possibility of the playful nature of our community being overthrown in favor of something more serious, and less enjoyable. This little beast is struggling though, it feels like this will just be another attempt at something more that ends up crashing and burning. I've feared losing my community for years, and I can't even pull them out of the fire.
I know our community is casual, but it seems like people don't even care enough to begin serious discussions. This place has structure, why don't people want to be here?

The First Law of Biology :: Comments
Might be sheer laziness, but not a whole lot of people are even active in the group. Sometimes I feel like I annoy you,and others, because I always comment on posts and stuff...instead of new people coming in and doing that. The biggest issue, though, is that people are too inactive and uncaring nowadays.
It's a blessing that you're active on here. Anything to keep the forum active and interesting is welcome at this point.
Thanks, but we still need to work on getting people on here. Maybe some people searching for a good place to discuss books and such?
Rule 2: Never blame the wife for the babies gender. It's all your sperms fault.
