Do you think people should be able to read the original, and have it able by hand?

Forbid someone release the real works of a girl being trapped in a building, in hiding, during the holocaust, and not censor it.
No.
Just no.
They could not get over the fact that Anne talking about her sexuality, or her writing some unflattering things about her house-mates. It isn't even meant for kids to read in the first place, why did they get such a twist out of it? (Kids can read it if they want, but like...)
I do understand that the release was many years ago, and people were different, but you can't really give it to a 10 year old (Unless they were in some sort of honorary system. Even so.) and expect them to feel uneducated about the subjects.
But I just want to read the original thing. I think the original work, and biography should be released the way it is, especially about something as sensitive as Anne Frank herself and the holocaust.
TL;DR I think censoring Anne Frank's diary was wrong unless you were using it for education value. But if a student, or anyone wanted to read the original, they should be able to, not have it censored by a local library. All in all, it depends, but I disagree at the challenge to finding the original.
All in all, the copies are great, and it's really hard to think that horrors like this happened years ago. (I feel like I mispelled, or did something wrong in here. I always screw up or contradict my rants, I'm neutral on many of things.)

Well I'm glad, because I find it pretty shitty to censor something like her diary.

Re: Why must you censor Anne Frank's diary, world?
I guess it's kind of understandable. Even in death, her diary was one of her personal effects, though, so it may have been protecting her integrity as a witness. Of course, someone probably selectively censored it to accomplish an agenda, so we can rule that out.
It may not be right, but we can't necessarily say it's wrong.

Well, it WAS pornographic. It was PRIVATE, in the first place. And she started exploring her body and stuff like that...that is definitely not something kids should be reading, especially boys. But I don't think they should have censored it. One of my old best friends read an uncensored copy, I think. And even she said that Anne Frank's diary was disturbing (due to the pornography) and boring. I think I owned an uncensored copy many, many, many years ago...never read it, but I probably should have. I looked up some things about her diary being censored, and some schools make kids read the uncensored copy. So keep searching, quotebot.

Re: Why must you censor Anne Frank's diary, world?
I rescind my previous statement. The diary itself should have never been censored under any circumstances. Anne Frank's diary is the only recountance of her life -- Her history. Censoring any part of it is wrong because of its' historical value. The censored entries offer valuable insight into more than just her sexuality, but human psychology in these scenarios. Preventing the censorship of such things is of scientific value, and, of course, serves to prevent the adulteration of the personality of a resilient young girl under pressing circumstances. her memory doesn't deserve to be fragmented like that.
